Grain Integration: Sync Your Team's Call Recordings

Connect Grain to Backdrop so your workspace's recorded calls and transcripts power real-time answers. Admin setup with a Grain Workspace Access Token.

With Grain connected, your workspace's recorded customer calls become a source Backdrop draws on: how prospects describe their pain, the objections that come up, and how your best reps answer them.

Who can set this up

A Backdrop workspace admin, with a Grain Workspace Access Token. The connection is shared by everyone in your workspace.

Get a Grain Workspace Access Token

Sign in to Grain as a workspace admin.
Go to Workspace settings > Integrations > API.
Generate a Workspace Access Token and copy it.

Workspace Access Tokens are available on Grain's Business and Enterprise plans. Use a workspace token rather than a personal one: it lets Backdrop reach every recording in the workspace, not just one person's. See Grain's API guide for details.

Connect Grain in Backdrop

In the Backdrop app, open Knowledge from the sidebar.
Find Grain and click Connect on its card.
In the Everyone row, click Connect. A secure connection form opens in your browser.
Paste your Workspace Access Token and submit. Backdrop checks the token before saving it.

When the card turns green and reads For everyone, Grain is connected.

What Backdrop syncs

Recordings and their transcripts. The first sync reaches back 12 months.
New recordings every hour after that.
External calls only. Internal-only meetings are skipped.

Disconnect Grain

Open Knowledge and click Manage on the Grain card.
In the Everyone row, click Disconnect, then confirm.

Backdrop stops receiving recordings from Grain. To switch to a new token, disconnect, then connect again with the new token.
